After graduating, Thompson set his sights on the sunny west coast, to attend film school at the University of Southern California. While at USC, Thompson's most noteworthy accomplish-ment was a short film he directed entitled, Hope's Choice. The film would go on to play at several film festivals, earning a student Emmy Award, a Director's Guild of America Honorable Mention Award, and selection to the SHOWTIME Network's Black Filmmakers Showcase. Thompson's writing and directing style best reflects his appreciation for gritty dramas such as City of God, Bamboozled, and Fight Club. In addition to his film endeavors, Thompson is also a recording artist having recorded two hip-hop albums with a group while in college, and is currently completing production on his solo project.
